LDS Program Policies

Attire

Due to the professional nature of the program, business casual attire is required during the program. Since dress codes and terminology vary widely among agencies, companies and countries, here are a few examples of what is considered business casual attire: Open-necked, collared shirts, or blouses and sweaters; Khakis, pressed pants, skirts, or casual dresses; leather-shoes, boots, flats, or casual walking shoes.

Business dress is required for the LDS commencement ceremony (e.g., business suit or dress, or sport coat and tie).

Athletic attire is appropriate when engaged in fitness activities.

Casual attire (e.g., jeans, shorts, sport shirts/tops, sandals, athletic shoes) may be authorized in certain situations when dictated by the activity and/or the weather conditions.

Absences

The LDS program is an intense and highly integrated experience in which you will not only be learning for yourself but helping others in your classes and core Leadership Development Team. Thus, your attendance is required at all program sessions for all delivery formats, including:

-          the first working weekend

-          intersession (virtual synchronous) meetings as listed on the registration page, and

-          federal holidays (the program is in session).

We also urge you to delegate your regular work to others during your absence so you can devote full attention to and derive the most benefit from the program.

If you anticipate the need to miss any of the program, contact your agency training office and our registration team (register@opm.gov) immediately to either reschedule or find a substitute.

Early Withdrawal and Completion Policy

If, for personal or professional reasons, a participant must withdraw from the LDS program, FEI will work with the individual to aid them in completing the program prior to the end of the fiscal year or within 9 months from the start of the enrolled program.

Accommodations

Accommodations and assistance are available for LDS executives with special needs (to include, but not limited to mobility, vision, hearing, other physical impairments, health conditions and learning impairments). Accommodations can be made for short-term disabilities related to accidents or medical conditions and treatments.

If you have any special needs, please note it in your Center for Leadership Development (CLD) Central user profile and notify the Program Coordinator and/or Lead Faculty prior to your arrival.

Visitors

Linda Winner GardenVisitors are not permitted to reside on campus at any point during the program. Visitors are encouraged to attend the commencement ceremony on the last day of the program, in-person or via Zoom.
